Analyzing PTM Impacts#
PTM-POSE provides a variety of options for downstream analysis of the impacts on splicing on PTMs. These include:
General summaries of the number and types of PTMs impacted by splicing alterations
Gene set enrichment analysis of PTM-associated genes
Enrichment of specific PTM functions, such as biological process or molecular function
Protein interaction analysis to identify potential interaction partners that may be impacted by splicing alterations (lose or gain interactions)
Enzyme-substrate enrichment analysis (especially for kinases) that can be used to predict upstream regulators that may be impacted by splicing alterations (lose or gain substrates)
Motifs impacted by altered flanking sequences induced by splice events
For examples of how to use PTM-POSE for these types of analyses, see the `Analysis Gallery`_.
