Analyzing PTM Impacts

Analyzing PTM Impacts#

PTM-POSE provides a variety of options for downstream analysis of the impacts on splicing on PTMs. These include:

  • General summaries of the number and types of PTMs impacted by splicing alterations

  • Gene set enrichment analysis of PTM-associated genes

  • Enrichment of specific PTM functions, such as biological process or molecular function

  • Protein interaction analysis to identify potential interaction partners that may be impacted by splicing alterations (lose or gain interactions)

  • Enzyme-substrate enrichment analysis (especially for kinases) that can be used to predict upstream regulators that may be impacted by splicing alterations (lose or gain substrates)

  • Motifs impacted by altered flanking sequences induced by splice events

For examples of how to use PTM-POSE for these types of analyses, see the `Analysis Gallery`_.
